We got a fantastic summary from Betty about the important things in her life from the beginning to the present day. I really liked the story of The Mayfly. Thank you Betty Lynn Buckley, it was a great experience spending these two hours with you

I've seen the movie and David is perfection in the role. ]the script literally diminished the Bernardo character!!! However the central love story gets completely overshadowed by Ariana DeBose and David Alvarez as Anita and Bernardo

I am so sick of these stupid typed captions!! Are the people that type these things DEAF?? They're always wrong!!! Jonathan's accent makes him hard to understand anyway and then the idiots typing these captions fuck them up even worse!! Can you fix this?? I'm more confused than ever about what he actually said!!

The death of the Octopus scene, as for hilariously melodramatic it may have played on set, for the audience [me] ... it was a bit heart breaking. Harry lost a friend, and a comedic foil as well. He had genuine feelings for something or someone other than himself. With Nathan Fillian's voice. Then it goes to the absurd, where he carries out his last wish, and eats him ... and enjoys it

Yes, I too (like so many others) love this movie SO MUCH! I was so impressed on how really romantic scenes were punctuated by a bit of comedy, like Alex and Henry in the Red Room in their passionate embrace and then Amy walks in and Henry in particular looks so silly trying not to look guilty. I watched a piece on creating the incidental music to this film, and ever since, paid attention to it. (That I had to do that deliberately speaks volumes - pun intended - on how well it was NOT intrusive.) I love how both Alex and Henry have their own theme and how the music heightens the scene, like the "nervous" music when Alex is waiting in the Red Room, which then swells as the pair embrace. One of my favorite scenes is the New Year's eve party, where Alex is paying so much attention to Henry without realizing it, even though Henry is picking up on Alex's flirting with him - only to have it all crash down when Alex doesn't kiss him at midnight. (And perhaps is it also Henry realizing he can't openly kiss Alex, even in a platonic goofing way.) Been there, done that - often - where I mistook a guy's attentions to me as meaning more than it is just being friendly. Then we see Alex hunting up Henry outside because he HAS been paying attention - again without him realizing it himself. Alex's first line of "Did I do something wrong?" is making me tear up right now thinking about it, even after the scores of watching it. Movie could have ended right there with the kiss and a fade-out. Many people love how Ellen's shock at hearing who Alex is dating instantly turns to support. But I also love how he comes out to his father, with his father obviously picking up the next morning from their sleeping arrangement at the family guest house. Many readers of the book are disappointed this is only a two-hour movie instead of a 6-part series. I think even if it would have been possible to include more of the novel's additional material for a series, the extra material would have diluted the impact of the film version. I went to look at the difference between the 6-part 1990's Pride & Prejudice and the 2005 version. Most Jane Austen fans probably love the series better as being closer to her work, but the 2005 movie was much more of an almost physical impact and probably created a ton MORE Austen fans.

I love this show so much. I also love that Alan Tudyk is getting the love he deserves. He’s brilliant and such an underrated talent overall. One of the best actors working today in my opinion. I hope he gets awards consideration because he’s giving one of the best comedic performances I’ve ever seen on TV!

Thank you for this interview. I traveled to London from Boston last April and got tickets for A Little Life on a whim. Never have I been impacted by theatre like I was that night. At stage door I was one of those fans who mentioned to James about the need to bring this to Broadway but you hit the nail on the head! Broadway is not ready to appreciate A Little Life. I travel to NYC at least once a month to see shows, I’ve been to BAM too, and I agree with James, an off-Broadway stint would be amazing. As soon as I came home from London last April, I booked a return trip to see ALL their closing weekend in August. Got tickets to sit on the stage and what a wonderful experience that was. I found I cried less during that performance but when I returned the next night to sit in the audience, it hit me even more and bawled like a baby. I have my ticket for Nowhere Special tonight and I’m bringing my box of tissues. ❤
